SEPAC 2024 – International stamp experts visit

group photo SEPAC 2024

Every year, the members of the "Small European Postal Administration Cooperation" (SEPAC) meet in one of the 13 member countries. This year it was Liechtenstein's turn again and this year's SEPAC meeting took place at Philatelie Liechtenstein. Since we are the only printing company in Liechtenstein and Switzerland that produces stamps, the SEPAC members came to visit us for an afternoon.

The history of SEPAC

In 1994, an annual stamp conference was started by Paolo de Rosa, an international stamp dealer. The meetings were designed to discuss specific philatelic topics and to support smaller postal companies. However, he then sold his stamp agency, and the postal administrations decided to create their own annual conference called SEPAC. This event started in 1999 and was attended by delegates from postal administrations who had already attended the De Rosa conference. Today, SEPAC is an association of 13 European postal authorities from Åland, the Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Greenland, Guernsey, Iceland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco and Vatican City.

What is discussed at SEPAC meetings?

At SEPAC's annual stamp meetings, members discuss a variety of topics, including postal cooperation, the design and issuance of joint stamp series, marketing strategies, innovations in philately, and the promotion of stamp collecting and cultural exchange between member countries. The meetings also serve to generate new ideas, share best practices, and strengthen cooperation within the philatelic community.

An exciting day at Gutenberg AG

Enthusiasm is even better when you share it with someone! That's why it was a pleasure for us to welcome stamp enthusiasts to our house! With our product "stamp2go", our guests were able to design their own stamps and have them printed on site. Afterwards, Philipp Zünd introduced our guests to printing processes from days gone by. He knows how to combine traditional and modern printing in an artistic way and brings our historic letterpress machines back to life by producing exclusive, unique items. Everyone had the opportunity to operate the printing press and print their own stamp sheets.

After a tour of our company, during which we presented the fascinating process of producing stamps, we enjoyed a delicious dinner in the Steg together with our guests and Philately Liechtenstein.
