This year's BerufsCheck<\/a> took place at Gutenberg AG from March 25 to 27. Knowing that presentations can often be ineffective and rather tedious, we developed engaging practical tasks for the students instead. At five varied stations, the teenagers had the opportunity to observe the individual departments of Gutenberg AG and discover their talents.<\/p>\n

Sticker fun in prepress<\/h2>\n

Things got off to a creative start right away: In prepress, the teenagers had the opportunity to learn about the profession of \"polygrapher\" and design their own stickers. They could choose from various motifs and shapes and add a personal touch to their designs by adding their own text. The best part? The stickers aren't just a fantasy project\u2014they're produced right afterward!<\/p>\n

Operate machines yourself<\/h2>\n

Now it was time to get to the machines! After the stickers were printet on adhesive paper in the Digital Printing<\/a> auf Selbstklebepapier gedruckt wurden, stand das pr\u00e4zise Ausschneiden auf dem Programm. Nat\u00fcrlich nicht mit der Schere, daf\u00fcr haben wir unsere leistungsstarke SinaJet. Everyone had the opportunity to operate the machine themselves and align it so that it could perfectly cut out the die-cut shapes of the respective stickers.<\/p>\n

After the students learned about the profession of a Media Technologist they, enjoyed a light refreshment. The menu included delicious nut croissants and doughnuts, and a refreshing drink was also available.<\/p>\n

Paints and spatulas<\/h2>\n

Now the machines are getting bigger and louder! In the Offset Printing<\/a> Departement, the students had the opportunity to experience the impressive printing machines up close and learn all about the profession of a Offset Media Technologist. Instead of toner, liquid inks are used here. So, the students got hands-on and tried mixing colors themselves \u2013 a fascinating experience!<\/p>\n

Challenging handwork<\/h2>\n

Then we moved on to the finishing department, where the printed sheets are transformed into finished printed products by print media processors. The students had the opportunity to create something similar. We asked ourselves: What could be particularly useful for students? At this age, so many thoughts are swirling around in their heads, and it's easy to forget something important. The solution? Notes! But not just any old ones \u2013 we opted for a stylish spiral notebook. This task required a lot of sensitivity and patience, but the result was worth it: a practical yet creative tool for everyday school life!<\/p>\n

Designing for the digital world<\/h2>\n

These days, you have to be present in the digital world too, as the students themselves know best. Therefore, in the Digital Media department, they had the opportunity to demonstrate their creative talent as \"mediamaticians\" and edit their own social media reels. In the process, they learned how important editing, transitions, effects, sounds, and background music can be. A successful reel requires far more skill and know-how than many might initially assume.<\/p>\n

The crowning glory<\/h2>\n

Finally, all groups gathered in the meeting room. Attentive listeners had the chance to win a voucher for Munchy.li<\/a> But no one left empty-handed. Everyone received a bag containing a Gutenberg notebook, pens, and flyers about the individual professions. The selfmade spiral notebook and stickers could also be stored in it. The feedback from the students was consistently positive.<\/p>\n

Teachers at the BerufsCheck<\/h2>\n

The BerufsCheck isn't just for students\u2014we've also prepared something very special for teachers at Gutenberg AG! After a short presentation about Gutenberg AG, they were also given the opportunity to create spiral-shaped notebooks, because teachers need notepads too!<\/p>\n

After an exciting tour through our production, the tour ended in the letterpress studio of Philipp Z\u00fcnd<\/a>, where we delighted visitors with fascinating insights into the history of printing. Everyone had the opportunity to operate the traditional letterpress themselves and take home a piece of printing history. An unforgettable experience for everyone!<\/p>\n

Vom 25. bis 27. M\u00e4rz fand der diesj\u00e4hrige BerufsCheck in der Gutenberg AG statt. Da wir wissen, dass Pr\u00e4sentationen oft wenig effektiv und eher tr\u00e4ge sein k\u00f6nnen, haben wir f\u00fcr die Sch\u00fclerinnen und Sch\u00fcler stattdessen ansprechende praktische Aufgaben entwickelt.
